The Watson-Brown Foundation Junior Board has awarded the Augusta Library a preservation grant of $5,750 toward restoration of the auxiliary building at Appleby Branch Library. The Summerville Neighborhood Association and the Friends of Augusta Library are also providing funds for this project.
The Appleby Library was constructed as a private home in 1830; the auxiliary building may have been the original kitchen. The board from the Watson-Brown Foundation will be making a presentation for the award on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Appleby Library, 2260 Walton Way.

I couldn't find any email address for the library except for the webmaster email, so I hope someone will see this and respond to me. I have some books that I would like to donate. I know that the Friends have booksales regularly, and I'm sure there is a way to donate books to that, I'm just not sure how. Look forward to hearing from someone! Thanks!
We do welcome donations of books in good condition. If you want to donate a large number of books, please bring them to the Main Library (902 Greene Street, Augusta), during business hours. If that's not possible, or if it's just a few, take them to any branch library in Augusta. For a list of library locations and addresses, see this page:

Thanks!
